THE HIT PAIR DHANUSH AND SHREYA web on 02/06/2009 at 9:42am (UTC)   The hit pair Shriya and Dhanush are back! They have started shooting for the remake of the Telugu hit, Arya. The movie, yet to be titled, is being directed by Mitran Jawahar, who had directed Dhanush’s 2008 super hit Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Music for the movie is by Devisri Prasad. The movie, for which shooting has commenced in Vishakapatnam, was originally supposed to be directed by Balasekaran. There were lot of hiccups before the film finally took off. Initially, Simbu had also shown interest in the remake, but couldn’t do it as he fell out with the producers Gemini Film Circuit. The buzz is that some major changes have been made to the original script as that film is nearly two years old and the interesting fact is that its sequel Arya- 2 is on the floors in Tollywood.   AAYIRATHIL ORUVAN MOVIE SONG web on 02/06/2009 at 9:42am (UTC)   Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth have sung a duet for the actor’s brother, Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan.The movie has music by GV Prakash Kumar, and it is a duet that begins like Un mela aasai dhaan…., written by Vairamuthu. Aayirathil Oruvan stars Karthi and Reema Sen, and has already made waves for its songs, including one in which Bombay Jayashree has sung along with yesteryear singer PB Srinivas. Then, there is a song which Shubha Mudgal has lent her voice for, besides the remix of the Aayirathil Oruvan number, Adho Andha Paravai Pola….. Dhanush has sung earlier for Puthupettai, while Aishwarya has sung for Whistle. This is their first song together.   SURYA - NAYANTHARA IN AADHAVAN MOVIE: web on 02/06/2009 at 9:41am (UTC)   Surya, who is now close to completing AVM’s Ayan, will start his next film with top commercial director KS Ravi Kumar for producer Udayanidhi Stalin. The film, which will be titled Aadhavan, is said to be an action entertainer. Surya, it seems, liked the taut script of the film, the shoot of which will start by the end of January. Nayanthara is to be Surya’s heroine for the first time and music wizard AR Rahman is likely to provide music for this action-adventure film. KS Ravikumar, who will soon complete his Sarath Kumar-Shreya starrer Jaggubhai, said, “Surya is very similar to Kamal Haasan when it comes to his acting style, and has also proved that he is a huge draw at the box-office. We are now working out the finer details of the film.” Let’s hope that this film rocks the woods!   'Naan Kadavul' – The Aghori adherent web on 02/06/2009 at 9:40am (UTC)   Bala's next 'Naan Kadavul' has spellbound the spectators who watched the promo videos. The trailer had a robust Sadhu like Arya, who's menacing and disparate with his vicious pantomime. Seemingly inspired by the Aghori adherents of Varanasi, Bala have touched a subject which no filmmaker might dare to, in Tamil cinema. Aghori in Sanskrit meaning ‘Non-terrifying’ is the long lost tribe of Sadhus who are ardent devotees of Shiva and live a challenging life against all odds of the real world. Their dwelling places are often in cremation grounds which is also said to be Shiva’s pious land. Powdering themselves with ashes and consuming drugs are a part of their rituals. The people reach an edge of human life, when they consume the flesh of their dead fellow Sadhus. Apart from this, the term 'Aham Brahmasmi' in Sanskrit stands for 'I am god' with 'I' comprising of the entire universe, its elements and themselves. Bala has done his homework with utmost effort to bring out such trivial details before naming his movie and the tag line. His extensive study on the life of 'Aghori' tribe is evident from the trailers and snapshots of 'Naan Kadavul' that poses Arya powdered with Ash and roaming around crematory areas. The protagonist consuming his dead lover's corpse in the end is a typical ritual of the Aghori people which may or may not go well along the audience for its raw theme. Bala does have an alternate ending as per latest reports. On the whole, this talented director is making a big leap in Tamil cinema which might turn many heads for sure.   Shilpa Shetty in Chennai web on 02/06/2009 at 9:39am (UTC)   Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty would be in Chennai on Friday (9th January) to be part of the inauguration of an exclusive designer showroom called Uniq, that will showcase handpicked accessories from around the world. Actress Sona, who made her debut in 'Sivapathikaram' and followed it up with films like 'Mirugam' and 'Kuselan' is behind this endeavor. Says Sona, 'Shilpa was amazed at the product list we showed her. International brands not available in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, will be available in my store. We will showcase only handpicked accessories from around the world and no two products will be the same'. 'What's more…. some really big labels are going to be seen in the store. All products would be targeted mainly at the film, fashion and hi-end clientele who want to be exclusive and don't mind paying for it.
