Villu - Bang on target:

Formula entertainers and 'Ilayathalapathy' Vijay are inseparable. When he is hitting the bull's eye with such films, no wonder he seems to have developed a fascination for such 'mass themes'.

Come harvest festival (12 January), for it would be celebration time for die-hard Vijay fans as their favourite star's much-awaited "Villu" will be hitting the screens. It would be bountiful of joy for his rasikas, as Vijay is all set to dazzle the screen with his typical punch line dialogues, flex his muscle to fight the baddies and evoke laughter in the company of Vadivelu. With Nayantara around to romance Vijay on screen, no doubt it would be a youthful extravaganza in cinema halls.

Director Prabhudeva is as skilled and as talented as actor-choreographer Prabhudeva. As a film-maker, he combined well with Vijay to render a blockbuster in "Pokkiri". Now, the duo is at it again with "Villu". Overjoyed with the way the movie has shaped up, Vijay heaps laurels on Prabhudeva and expresses that it is one of the raciest films that he had ever acted.

'It would be two-and-half-hours of fun-filled action. There is no lagging moment as the movie moves to different planes without a hitch. All credits should go to Prabhudeva', he says and adds, 'the scenes involving Nayanthara, myself and Vadivelu is sure to bring the roof down with laughter'.

Style is the buzzword of the movie. There is grace and charm in everything that Vijay does on screen. We have taken sincere efforts towards it, says the director. One of the big-budgeted movies to be produced by Ayngaran Internationals, Villu's songs is already topping the charts, thanks to Devi Sri Prasad.

There are many pleasant surprises for the audience in Villu. Vijay appears in dual role (father and son), actress Kushboo appears in Vijay's intro song (Hey Rama… Hey Rama), item number specialist Mumaith Khan and her sister Sabhia Khan shake their legs with Vijay for a racy number 'Daddy Mummy'.

Ravivarman's cinematography gives a major boost to film, reiterates Prabhudeva. The hues and colors used by him with the tone to set the mood for every sequence are a delight to watch on screen, adds the director.

Come what may, it would be celebration time this Pongal as Vijay is back to entertain in the way he has been doing for years. Hope, with "Villu" he has aimed the right target and will achieve it quite comfortably.

Padikathavan Preview

Padikathavan - Promises commercial cocktail

It would be an action-packed and entertaining Pongal for Dhanush fans as their favorite hero's ‘Padikathavan’, a titled inspired by Rajinikanth's yesteryear hit, would be releasing in cinema halls.

With back-to-back hits in ‘Thiruvilayadal Arambam’ and ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’, Dhanush is optimistic of scoring a hat-trick with ‘Padikathavan’.

After a big hit in 'Marudhamalai', director Suraj chose to work with Dhanush and he has the duo have made it a wholesome entertaining film. Speaking about the film,

Suraj says, 'It is an out-an-out typical Dhanush film. It would everything a hardcore fan of Dhanush would love for. There is an overdose of comedy and Vivek in the company of Dhanush will bring the roof down with laughter'.

'Tamanna is youthful and exuberant on screen. Equally impressive have been Atul Kulkarni and Suman. On the whole the project is entertaining and enthralling'

‘Padikathavan’ is the story of a youth, who is bad in his academics and the problems and insults that he face in his family. Dhanush plays the youth, which boy-next-door looks. He comes across Tamanna, who plays an aeronautics student. The encounter between them is the story. Suman plays Tamanna's father. Atul Kulkarni and Shayaji Shinde are also in the cast.

'To be presented by Sun Pictures, 'Padikathavan' would have everything for people to enjoy. Manisharma's music is a major plus', Suraj said and added, 'quite like my ‘Marudhamalai’, everything in ‘Padikathavan’ would be breezy and we have not tried impose anything on the audience'.

Dhanush is elated to be part of the whole team. It is a good commercial entertainer. I have given my best and it is up to the audience to make it click, he said. Hopefully I score a hat-trick with the movie's success, he added.

The movie, produced by Vijaya Productions has been taken over Sun Pictures. Set to open in several hundred screens this Pongal, ‘Padikathavan’ is sure to rock, say avid Dhanush fans.
